Fishing for the Chinook Salmon generally starts Mid May and continues until the end of August although at times fishing for Chinooks can also be productive in early September. The Coho Salmon start to appear usually around mid June and run right through until October. The Coho are generally smaller in June but some of the later runs in August and September have produced consistently larger Coho. Halibut and Cod fishing is also productive throughout the fishing season however fishing for bottom fish in Cartwright Sound is somewhat weather dependent.
